THE PROMISE

There lived a man in the far coast of Africa; he was a man that had experienced a lot of hardship, pain and neglect. In his confused state, He remembered the words of his wretched grandfather;” in this lineage, we possess a gift that is not common among men and it is called THE PROMISE, it has passed down from generation to generation by a choice male child.” He looked at how his father died, wretched, his grandfather who happened to raise him, also died the same way.
After his remembrance, he forged ahead in his daily toil and quest, for the words made no meaning to him. He wondered how, he would be able to get THE PROMISE and if this PROMISE, ever worked for anybody in his lineage. Life seemed empty and meaningless at that point and frustrated as he was, he went on a quest for knowledge of THE PROMISE, told him by his grandfather.
In the midst of the quest, He met an old man, who told him that He has heard of the PROMISE before but, He knew little or nothing about it. The man thanked the old man and went ahead on his journey. He came to a point and he told himself that this PROMISE does not exist and if it does, it must be the plague of hardship and poverty that his lineage is known with. He packed his bags and started heading back home. Since it was nightfall, he delayed the journey till the next day and slept in a shed along the road. As he slept, he had a dream that He was on a large expanse of land alone. The land was rich in all things-minerals and resources. The dream was so vivid that He rose up and saw a need to go further in his quest and not go home.
As he went further and reached a point, He saw a large expanse of land, like that one he saw in his dream. He approached the land and asked about the land. He was told that as wonderful as the land was, it is a PROMISE to a family in the community but no one that is a part of the family has ever shown up to claim the land. He got inquisitive and the words of his grandfather came back to him. On another opportunity, he asked for the name of the family involved, and he was told.
He busted into tears at his discovery and the people comforted him. He told them his name and family name and how they have lived in perpetual poverty over the years because of ignorance. They only knew they had a PROMISE but none of them have actually stepped into THE PROMISE.
“And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even ETERNAL LIFE
1 John 2:25

CHOICE: THE DESTINY DENOMINATOR

Denominator in any mathematical equation is the determinant of the result of such a problem. In Mathematics, Denominator is the expression written below the line in a common fraction that indicates the number of parts into which one whole is divided. Choice is a decision to choose one thing, person, or course of action in preference to others. Choice is a daily event, occurence and reality in our lives. We are all shaped by this all important and often neglected action called CHOICE. Oftentimes, we fail to realize that the choice we made on a daily, hourly, per minute and per second basis is pivotal to the direction of our lives as individuals, organizations and as a nation.

A nation that refuses to sow into her future, will get there and meet weeds, because in life, there is no vaccum. A fallow land cannot be left, without anything growing on it, Oftentimes, weeds will find a way of growing on them and no one in his right frame of mind, will want to feed on or harvest weeds. As individuals, the same applies to us, we make choices of what route to take to work, what food to eat, what cloths to wear, how to respond to issues that come up in the day, etc. All these are critical to the making and moulding of our destinies, which we all are looking forward to, as individuals, organizations and nations.

It is of great importance to understand that in a day, we all have access to 24 hours, which is the equal playing field that we all have- whether you are, male or female, rich or poor, artisan or professional,CEO or Employee. The denominator of the value added in a day, week, month and year is the choices made in the 24 hours by these different classes of people. Choice of what to do, when to do it, how to do it and how much time to devote to what; are fundamental denominators in the equation of life. Friends, its important to understand that life is not a chance but a choice; and choice is the destiny denominator of life.
